Centenary youth are encouraged to come and participate, and are invited to bring friends who may not describe themselves as Christians or church-goers. Alpha makes it easy to invite friends to have spiritual conversations which explore life’s biggest questions, conversations which explore life’s biggest questions in a safe and respectful way. Each session includes time for video, short teaching, and discussion.
What will we be studying? Life, Jesus, The Cross, Faith, Prayer, Bible, Follow, Spirit, Fill, Evil, Healing, and the Church.

Sometimes our lives are in such disarray we can’t envision a way through to redemption. But when we look at the mess through the eyes of Christ, we not only find redemption, we can clearly see spiritual restoration. through our own brokenness, showing us that it is only when we focus on the cross as a place to surrender control that we can leave our mess and find true redemption. This 6-week study uses Scripture, devotional tools, and the writings of Ignatius of Loyola, John of the Cross, St. Augustine, John Wesley, Evelyn Underhill, and others.
Donations for the Homeless
Are you are shopping for friends and family this Christmas? It’s also time to think about “gifts” for our less fortunate neighbors. In January, we will distribute “Manna kits” to Portsmouth’s homeless community. These kits contain items for warmth as well as hygiene. The following items are needed to fill our kits.
- Men & women’s white cotton socks
- Warm hats, gloves and scarves
- Travel size deodorant
- Baby powder, lotion and Chapstick
- Toothbrush / toothpaste
- Monetary donations are also accepted
Please place your donations in the basket on the table in the Tower Room. This is one wonderful way we can share the true meaning and joy of the season.
